Upon first glance, the Cypriot Justice Administration would appear completely similar to English law. However, the present structure is much a legacy of the late colonial period and is heavily influenced by the merger of Cyprus’ two old supreme courts, which was provided for in their constitution. The judiciary system of Cyprus often abides by common law tradition, using common law tools and reasoning (though this use is a point of disagreement between legal professionals).
